As you know, the Landes Coast is now one of our beautiful French destinations. Hossegor, Capbreton... Towns that offer an irresistible vacation vibe! Today, we’d like you to meet Joelle, our City Manager for this area.

‍

Could you start by introducing yourself briefly?

My name is Joelle, and I’ve been living in the southern Landes region for about thirty years now.

‍

What were you doing before joining the Welkeys adventure?

Before joining Welkeys, I worked as a sales assistant and an IT account manager.

‍

What motivated you to work in the vacation rental sector?

It all started thanks to a friend who manages several rentals in the Landes. They inspired me to do the same! I began by looking after homes rented out for the summer for acquaintances. Then, I had the opportunity to become a Welkeys City Manager and jumped at the chance to pursue this career.

‍

Can you tell us about your role as a City Manager?

My role as City Manager allows me to help our tourists discover this beautiful region of the Landes, which is particularly well-known for its surf spots and gastronomy. It’s a job that requires professionalism, precision, availability, and responsiveness to ensure everything is well-organized during the guests' stay.

‍

I am committed to providing a warm welcome to our travelers to build loyalty and, above all, to ensure they leave with wonderful memories of the region. As for the owners who trust Welkeys, my goal is to ensure they can remain relaxed and worry-free.

‍

In your opinion, why is the Landes Coast a particularly suitable area for Airbnb-style rentals?

The Landes Coast offers a wide range of water sports. It is particularly famous for the Quiksilver Pro France (a must-see surfing competition), paddleboarding on the Hossegor marine lake, and jet skiing on the ocean.

‍

You can also find marked trails through the forests for family hikes or mountain biking. Between the ocean, dunes, and pine forests, the Landes is home to vast, wild, and protected natural spaces. These are real assets for attracting travelers.

‍

What do you enjoy doing most on the coast?

I enjoy walks along the port of Capbreton and around the lake in Hossegor, as well as hiking trails under the pine trees.

‍

Any favorite spots or tips to share with us?

One of my favorite restaurants is Le Maeva in Capbreton, facing the ocean. It’s a friendly, family-oriented restaurant (especially the fisherman’s platter, which is served in the shape of a boat). In Hossegor, I really love going to the restaurant La Paillote to enjoy their famous chipirons and tapas.

‍

Also not to be missed: a stand-up paddleboarding lesson on Lake Hossegor!

‍

In your opinion, what are the best times of year for vacation rentals in the Landes?

It’s not unusual to see people on café terraces every month of the year, as soon as the sun comes out. Every season is perfect for specific activities.
