We’ve been waiting a month for summer to finally show its face! At last, the blue skies, the heat, and the beautiful weather we’ve been craving. However, it’s a heatwave—discover the "TIP OF THE DAY" with Welkeys!
We’re roasting here, aren't you? Read our Welkeys Tip of the Day to help you cool down.
Your guest has just arrived at your rental, and they’re off to a great start with the sunny weather. They already know to avoid going out during the hottest hours between noon and 4 p.m. However, they still want to make the most of their stay, whether they’re heading to the beach, hiking in the mountains, or exploring the city. Whether they are out or inside your Airbnb, advise your guests to be cautious and share these helpful tips. Welkeys shares the 5 best tips from our concierges:
#1: Stay in the shade
Outside of your vacation rental, whether at the beach, in the mountains, or in the city: stay in the shade and wear a hat, along with loose-fitting, light-colored clothing—preferably cotton. Don't forget your sunglasses to protect your eyes.
#2: Avoid exercise
Avoid physical activities, whether it's mountain hiking, playing volleyball on the beach, or heading out for an intense day of shopping (yes... it's still sale season)... just avoid it and take it easy! This is the only time of year you have a valid excuse not to work out, so take advantage of it!
#3: Stay (very) hydrated
Drink regularly without waiting until you're thirsty—at least 1.5 to 2 liters per day—and eat cold meals like salads, chilled soups, or cold meats and fish.
#4: Stay indoors
Stay inside your Airbnb rental in the coolest rooms or in an air-conditioned space. Spend at least 2 or 3 hours a day in a cool place: department stores, movie theaters, public buildings, museums, etc.
#5: Only open shutters and windows at night
In your short-term rental, keep the shutters closed and air out the property to create a cross-breeze during the night and early morning. Limit heat sources by dimming or turning off lights.
