The unmissable Tour de France will take place from July 1st to July 24th, 2022. Every year, this event brings together dozens of cyclists and draws hundreds of spectators along the routes taken by the competitive athletes. It is the perfect opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to take a road trip across France to experience the race as closely as possible and cheer on the challengers. For others, it is a chance to head to one of the Tour de France stages and book a vacation rental to witness the athletes pass by at least once. But where should you stay during the Tour de France? Which destination should you choose to be as close as possible to the riders' route?

‍

Tour de France route through the Hauts-de-France region from July 5th to 6th

‍

After 3 stages outside of France, the Tour de France arrives in the Hauts-de-France region starting July 5th, where it will wind through the roads from Dunkirk to Lille, passing through Calais and Arenberg Port du Hainaut until July 6th. To make sure you don't miss them, we recommend booking an apartment in Lille. It will also be a great opportunity for you to visit this magnificent city, which is full of history and has a deep connection to cycling.

‍

Our choice for a rental in Lille still available for July 5th and 6th, 2022, is this magnificent, bright loft with a rooftop in the heart of Roubaix. A former industrial building that has been completely rehabilitated and renovated in a very modern style, it can accommodate up to 7 people thanks to its three bedrooms, each featuring a double bed. One of the rooms even comes with a crib, which is perfect for families. We have no doubt that you will love this superb loft, especially for its spaciousness, its unparalleled natural light, and its 45-square-meter rooftop. From this elevated spot, you will have a 360-degree view of the city.

‍

The highlight of the accommodation: a smart TV with Netflix and Disney+, a game console, a stereo system, and air conditioning.

‍

Tour de France route through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region from July 11th to 15th

‍

After passing through Eastern France, the Tour de France arrives in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region on July 11th and leaves on July 15th. To stay during this period, one option available to you is to book a vacation rental in Megève. From this town, you can watch the Tour pass through Morzine, Megève, Albertville, and even the Col du Granon. You are spoiled for choice: you can visit all these locations or choose just one and use the rest of your stay to enjoy and discover the town of Megève in the summer. Contrary to what one might think, ski resorts are not dormant for the rest of the year and offer plenty of varied activities during the summer season as well.

‍

This superb, luxurious chalet with a sauna and terrace in Megève will be able to accommodate all your loved ones in incomparable comfort. It has 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms so that everyone has their own privacy, despite the communal living offered by this chalet, which has a capacity of 12 people. The 230 square meters of the chalet include a large, comfortable living room and a large table for sharing meals prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. The month of July will be perfect for taking full advantage of the chalet's large terrace.

‍

The highlight of the accommodation: a private garage to park your car with complete peace of mind.

‍

‍

More modest but just as warm and comfortable, this charming apartment with a balcony and a splendid view in Alpe d'Huez will allow you to attend the following stages of the Tour de France. Indeed, after passing through Megève and its surroundings, the cyclists will head toward Alpe d'Huez and traverse the Alpine slopes of Briançon, Alpe d'Huez, and on to Bourg-d'Oisans before heading toward Saint-Etienne.

‍

Take advantage of the National Holiday and the July 14th public holiday to head to Alpe d'Huez and not miss the riders passing by on that very day. This apartment, still available for these dates, can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people thanks to its double bed, sofa bed, and bunk beds. Very bright and with a beautiful balcony, you will be just a few steps from the center of Alpe d'Huez.

‍

Tour de France route through the Occitanie region from July 20th to 21st

‍

After the Alps, the Tour de France continues toward the Pyrenees. Stages 17 and 18 of the Tour will take place on July 20th and 21st. The destinations of Saint-Gaudens, Peyragudes, Lourdes, and Hautacam will be the locations the cyclists pass through during this period, but where should you stay to easily access one of these places? The La Mongie resort is one of the solutions available to you for watching the Tour de France in Occitanie.

‍

This large, elegant 3-bedroom apartment with a balcony in La Mongie is an Airbnb rental that can accommodate 6 people and will be perfect for your stay centered around the 2022 Tour de France. You will have 3 sleeping areas at your disposal: two double beds and two bunk beds spread across three bedrooms. To ensure you don't get in each other's way, the apartment is also equipped with two bathrooms, all arranged around a welcoming and bright living and dining room. From the balcony, you will have a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. However, we recommend that you come by car or have a car on-site so you can travel to the towns the riders pass through.

‍

End of the Tour de France in Paris on July 24th

‍

The Tour de France will conclude on July 24th with the 21st stage, which includes the Paris La Défense Arena and the Paris Champs-Élysées. To make sure you don't miss the athletes crossing the finish line, here is a place to stay that will put you just minutes away from the event. As with the other destinations, it will also be an opportunity for you to take a short trip to the capital and enjoy your proximity to the Eiffel Tower and all the iconic Parisian historical monuments.

‍

We have this beautiful, renovated studio in mind, located near the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, and Beaugrenelle, for you to stay in during the Tour de France's time in Paris. Modest but very well decorated and furnished, this studio can accommodate a maximum of two people. It overlooks an interior garden, allowing you to escape the Parisian hustle and bustle and enjoy some peace and quiet in the heart of the city. Despite its small size, you still benefit from a bathroom with a bathtub. The kitchen area is also very well equipped with a microwave, stovetop, coffee machine, and even a washing machine.

‍

The highlight of the accommodation: a large, very comfortable bed with hotel-quality linens provided by Welkeys.
