Enjoy Paris terraces even in winter

The terrace at Eugène Eugène

It’s one of the most appealing features of this large, glass-walled house: the terrace. Actually, there are two, one of which will be heated all winter long. So, even though Puteaux isn't exactly Paris (we know), this winter we’ll still be enjoying the outdoors at the Eugène Eugène restaurant. On Sundays, the spread includes carrot salad with orange, marinated peppers and zucchini, quiche lorraine, carved beef, roasted cockerel, ratatouille, sautéed potatoes, scrambled eggs, a charcuterie board, gravlax salmon, tuna sashimi, mini pastries, chouquettes, fruit salad, chocolate mousse, waffles, crepes, brioche, and yogurt, among other things.

The terrace at Klay Saint-Sauveur

A few days ago, we told you about the new neighborhood spot from Klay, Klay Saint-Sauveur. Behind the completely renovated restaurant of the famous sports club, the terrace remains unchanged. Pumpkin soup, soft-boiled egg carbonara, fettuccine alle vongole, scallops in coconut milk sauce, Pampero Especial rum baba, Breton shortbread with mango... Once you're comfortably settled, all that's left to do is enjoy, with a glass of apple, carrot, and orange juice in hand.

The terrace at Hôtel Costes

We sometimes forget that a few years ago, the refined palates of the Figaroscope editors voted the Hôtel Costes mojito "the best in all of Paris." Add to that the cozy setting by Jacques Garcia, its clientele of models and actors from all over the world, and you’re in the heart of the fashion world, sitting under the awning of the heated courtyard—if you please.

‍

The terrace at Pavillon Puebla

The spot—located in the heart of the Buttes-Chaumont—has the feel of a country house. This winter, every Friday is a "Frisquette" party: the terrace transforms into a ski resort (Puebla 2000). On the agenda: faux fur, moon boots, ushankas, mittens, mulled wine, a tartiflette bar, and cocktails. Who could ask for more?

The terrace at La Closerie des Lilas

La Closerie des Lilas is a must-visit address on the Left Bank. And for good reason: since 1847, the brasserie has hosted Émile Zola, Paul Cézanne, Paul Verlaine, Lenin, Apollinaire, Hemingway, Picasso, and Sartre, among others. The highlight is the veranda (one of the most pleasant in Paris). While waiting for warmer days, you can enjoy the piano bar and its cozy atmosphere to end the evening on a high note.

Rooftops open in winter in Paris

The Perchoir Marais rooftop (in the 4th arrondissement)

Once again this winter, the BHV Marais has transformed its large 2,700-square-foot terrace into a cozy chalet. With heaters, faux fur throws, blankets, cushions, potatoes and melted cheese, Nordic-style boards, and cocktails, it’s the perfect spot to spend an evening high above the Parisian hustle and bustle, with stunning views of the riverbanks, the Hôtel de Ville, the Tour Saint-Jacques, Beaubourg, and the Eiffel Tower.

The Auteuil Brasserie rooftop (in the 16th arrondissement)

Auteuil Brasserie is a "unique spot" spread over several floors: there's a bar, a brasserie, a terrace, and, most importantly, a rooftop. It’s the perfect chance to enjoy the blue sky even when it’s cold (blankets are available). When you're not there for the shrimp pappardelle, it's for the "Auteuil" pizza with truffle cream, bresaola Punta d’Anca, parmesan, and cherry tomatoes.

The Perchoir Ménilmontant rooftop (in the 11th arrondissement)

On the 7th floor of 14 Rue Crespin du Gast, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, you'll find the other location from the Perchoir team. Under the pergola, chef Morgane Hurbourg is in charge. On the menu, you'll find fresh, seasonal products—clearly, the prime rib with homemade béarnaise sauce is the way to go here. As for the entertainment, note that you can dance the winter away to a playlist curated by Karl Planck.

The Terrass" Hotel rooftop (in the 18th arrondissement)

The best part of the Terrass-Hotel (besides being located just a stone's throw from the Sacré-Coeur)? Its outdoor terrace, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Take the elevator to the 7th floor—or climb the 127 steps if you prefer—and you've arrived.

The Georges rooftop (in the 4th arrondissement)

Right in the middle of the Les Halles district is the Centre Georges Pompidou (or National Museum of Modern Art). Head to the top floor to find the Georges restaurant and its large terrace with a view. In winter, it is covered by large heated umbrellas.
