Being a concierge is not something you can just improvise. We’re sharing three friendly tips to ensure the guests you look after are treated like royalty. There is no magic formula for a great guest welcome, but we can recommend a few habits and behaviors to adopt. Here are the first three main, ES-SEN-TIAL points (there will be more to come, to be continued) to satisfy the clients:

‍

1. GIVE YOUR GUESTS A THOROUGH TOUR OF THE RENTAL.

It might sound obvious, but never forget that this is their first time in this apartment... or house... or treehouse... or whatever it may be! It’s an unfamiliar place to them, and we tend to react with caution and anxiety when we find ourselves in a completely new environment. It is therefore crucial to walk them through the rental, explain how everything works, etc., so that guests feel at home and comfortable.

‍

2. SINCE YOU KNOW THE NEIGHBORHOOD WELL, SHARE YOUR FAVORITE SPOTS.

‍Top-notch restaurants, cool bars, unique hidden gems, historic streets—don't hesitate to take on the role of a tour guide. You’ll gain credibility, and guests will really appreciate these kinds of tips. Bonus: Tell them about apps (local or otherwise) that offer interesting things to do in the area. Airbnb guests generally love these types of services (to name just the most well-known, here are a few examples: ride-sharing services like Heetch, or the home-cooked meal booking service we partner with, called Vizeat, which is perfect for experiencing the local culture of the country the guests are visiting).

‍

3. Don't forget to GIVE THEM THE KEYS.

Okay, we’re teasing you a little bit with that one. More seriously, don't spend three hours with them; be efficient, brief, and concise. Generally, guests only want one thing... or actually two: either they want to settle in and recover from their long trip, or they are eager to go out and explore the neighborhood!

But since you are super Welkeys concierges, you already know all of this, right?
