The resort is working toward obtaining the Flocon Vert label awarded by the Mountain Riders association. UNESCO has also recognized the Chablais Geopark. Landscape maintenance is carried out with the utmost respect for the environment (without herbicides or pesticides). The resort focuses on waste collection and sorting, as well as renewable energy.

The architecture, which follows the organic movement, optimizes the orientation of the various accommodations. Architects selected construction materials and building shapes to best integrate into the surrounding landscape.

A ski resort in winter

Avoriaz is part of the cross-border Portes du Soleil ski area. This area includes 12 ski resorts in Switzerland and France, and Avoriaz is one of the most central. During your stay, you will be spoiled for choice with the area's 300 kilometers of alpine ski slopes.

If you prefer other winter sports, there are 23 km of cross-country ski trails in Avoriaz and 230 km throughout the entire area. The teams have set up courses for ski touring and splitboarding. They have designed a snowpark for freestylers, featuring beautiful wooden elements. They also monitor and maintain ungroomed areas and snowcross routes for safe practice.

The resort offers numerous activities beyond skiing and snowboarding. Enjoy classic dog sledding or horse-drawn sleigh rides. Take advantage of an electric snowmobile outing, a paragliding initiation, or a helicopter tour. Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the 40 marked trails for discovering the surrounding waterfalls, streams, lakes, farms, and villages. For trail running, there are 400 km of trails spread across 54 routes dedicated to the activity.

The resort is perfectly suited for cycling enthusiasts, with a multitude of options available to you! Road cyclists will be thrilled to be on the Route des Grandes Alpes, which crosses no fewer than 18 mountain passes.

Numerous mountain bike trails are marked, and even e-bike enthusiasts can use one of the 5 routes equipped with charging stations. The more daring can try the bike park and its 18 downhill tracks, divided into 3 sectors based on difficulty level.
