Today, we invite you to meet M’Bambé, our City Manager for the Normandy Coast.

First of all, could you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?

My name is M'Bambé Lebos. I’m 33, married, and have a two-year-old daughter. Having my daughter is actually the main reason I decided it was the right time to start my own business.

I lived in Guinea until I was 18. After earning my scientific baccalaureate, I moved to Caen to continue my studies. Choosing the city was easy—it’s where my mother earned her doctorate. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Economic and Social Administration, followed by a first-year Master’s in Rennes, and finally a second-year Master’s in Caen, specializing in business studies and entrepreneurship. I also completed several internships in banking and consulting, and worked as a client and sales representative for energy savings certificates.

Your partnership with Welkeys is still relatively new. What are your main goals?

That’s true, it is quite recent. My main goals are as follows:

• Incorporate as a company within two years at most. Become the leader in short-term rentals on the Normandy Coast. And why not export the model to West Africa?

What drew you to the short-term rental sector, and specifically to the world of Airbnb concierge services?

Actually, I was a host on the Airbnb platform myself. Beyond that, I’m someone who loves to connect and share with people from all walks of life. This professional field is a perfect fit for me!

What are your main responsibilities as a City Manager, and which aspects of the job do you enjoy the most?

My duties cover the entire rental process:

• Communicating with owners who entrust their properties to Welkeys (prospecting, contracts, negotiation). Listing managed properties online. Ensuring cleaning is completed between each stay. Welcoming guests to the rentals.

As for what I enjoy most about my job, I would say it’s the connection and sharing I mentioned earlier. I also appreciate the ability to organize my own schedule with complete autonomy, and finally, being self-employed is a huge advantage.

Why Calvados?

I fell in love with this region and want to share that love with the travelers who come to visit.

Any must-see spots you would recommend to our guests?

The D-Day landing beaches, the Caen Memorial, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum... those are the first places that come to mind!
