Guadeloupe is overflowing with treasures to discover, and who better to show you around this paradisiacal archipelago than a year-round resident? Today, we invite you to spend a day on this Caribbean island. From excursions and gastronomy to must-see spots, Guadeloupe will hold no more secrets for you!

A romantic day in Guadeloupe

It’s hard to count how many honeymoons have taken place in Guadeloupe, but one thing is certain: couples have been captivated by the charms of this paradisiacal archipelago. Immerse yourself in the iconic postcard scenery and enjoy an unforgettable stay with your significant other. We’ve put together a day filled with romantic activities for two in Guadeloupe.

In the morning, what could be better than sleeping in, wrapped in the arms of your husband or wife? In one of our superb towns in Guadeloupe, lounge in the comfort of the hotel-quality linens provided in all our accommodations. The comfort of our guests during their stay is our top priority. Then, enjoy a nice coffee on your ground-floor terrace, surrounded by greenery.

For lunch, head to the restaurant at the Hotel Le Rayon Vert in Deshaies. Located about fifty minutes by car from Les Abymes, enjoy this little road trip along the coast to discover Guadeloupe's breathtaking landscapes. You can enjoy a refined lunch featuring local flavors with a magnificent view between the sea and the mountains. The view from the infinity pool, which makes you feel like you’re diving straight into the Caribbean Sea, is worth a detour during your trip.

Another activity for couples in Guadeloupe is, of course, lounging on the fine sand beaches with turquoise waters. You’ll find many, but we recommend the beaches of La Caravelle, Port-Louis, and Grande Anse. You will also find the Plage de Petite Anse just a 5-minute drive from the restaurant.

To wrap up this romantic day, there’s nothing better than watching the sunset over Guadeloupe while sipping delicious cocktails at the bar of the Hotel La Toubana in Sainte-Anne, where the view from the pool is the best for enjoying the rainbow of colors offered by the sunset. Don’t forget your camera to capture the moment.

A family day in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe is certainly a destination for couples, but it is also a great place for a family trip. You can do many family activities on the island, but here is a day during which both young and old can discover the charms of Guadeloupe.

Depending on their age, we know that children aren't exactly known for being big sleepers in the morning. That’s why we suggest spending the morning at your vacation rental. Let your children play and have fun in the pool while you supervise them from one of the lounge chairs or the terrace.

Lunchtime will arrive quickly; the restaurant Le Rocher de Malendure, which overlooks Malendure Bay, is perfect for introducing your family to fish and new flavors from the sea. It’s also an opportunity to teach them about fishing, a very popular activity on the island. With an unparalleled view, embark on a journey full of aromas and flavors.

Once the whole tribe is well-fed, head out on an excursion! Board a boat to visit the La Désirade nature reserve on the island of Petite Terre. There is just as much to discover underwater as there is on the islet. You might even spot the Lesser Antillean iguana.

Another family activity option for the afternoon is a visit to Les Saintes, a Caribbean jewel that must be included in your stay in Guadeloupe. The Les Saintes archipelago is made up of typical, colorful fishing villages, all set within a volcanic landscape.

After a busy day, we think a return "home" will be welcome. Once the children are in bed, you can enjoy the terrace as adults, and why not relax with a Ti Punch to continue exploring local flavors?

A day for adventurers in Guadeloupe

For the more daring, the adventurers, Guadeloupe is full of activities to do at any time of the day. Welkeys, your vacation rental service, takes you on a day full of surprises.

For the brave, we encourage you to get up (very) early to watch the sunrise at the Pointe des Châteaux in Saint-François. According to the locals, the spectacle is simply magical. That’s a great way to start the day!

Such an early wake-up call deserves a good meal in a typical setting, for example at the restaurant Chez Margaux, in Le Gosier. With a warm welcome, Chef Jean-François, a gastronomy enthusiast, will awaken your taste buds with his Creole-flavored dishes. For those in a hurry who want to move on to the next excursion quickly, a Guadeloupean BOKIT sandwich will be perfect!

In the afternoon, head off on an adventure in the tropical jungle! We recommend hiking to the magnificent Chutes du Carbet or the Bassin Paradis. Immerse yourself in this unique atmosphere, surrounded by dense vegetation and trees so tall you can barely see the tops. You will be captivated by this mystical atmosphere.

Finally, to end the day, there is nothing like watching the sunset from the beach at Malendure or Grande Anse. Grab a local Lekouz craft beer and some cod fritters to enjoy this spectacle in the heart of nature.
