October is fast approaching, and with it, new events are popping up all over France! Contrary to popular belief, the end of summer doesn't necessarily mean the end of all outings. As proof, here is a selection of events for October 2021.
Treat yourself to a little getaway for the weekend or take advantage of the school holidays to escape with your family and try out new activities. The possibilities are endless! Your vacation rental agency allows you to stay as close as possible to the festivities.
Lille Street Food Festival

The first edition of the Lille Street Food Festival will take place from October 7 to 10, 2021. This new event is part of our selection of events for October 2021! On the Place de Saintignon, 15 street food stands and 5 micro-breweries will showcase the city's chefs. You will be able to taste the latest culinary innovations as well as regional traditions seasoned according to the chefs' moods and inspiration.
Watch chef battles, enjoy your food while taking in the various musical performances, and finish your tour by participating in recycling awareness workshops. Despite the event being held outdoors, the only requirement to attend is a health pass.
If this event appeals to you, feel free to check out our various accommodations available in Lille. Access to the event is relatively easy, as the location is served by a metro line and there are parking lots available nearby.
Saint-Émilion Hot Air Balloon Festival

After two cancelled editions, the Saint-Émilion Hot Air Balloon Festival is back, much to the delight of enthusiasts and amateurs alike. This event, just a few kilometers from Bordeaux, celebrates these historic aircraft from October 15 to 17, 2021. Weather permitting, you can watch about 15 hot air balloons rise for free into the Bordeaux sky, at 8:00 AM or 5:00 PM, depending on your preference.
This extraordinary event is also unique in its organization. The takeoff site for the balloons is only shared with participants and visitors a few minutes before the start. The chosen field depends on the wind, which must be ideal for the craft to take off. Parc Guadet is the meeting point where the launch location will be announced.
If you want more, you can be a main participant in the event by becoming a passenger in one of the hot air balloons. You will need to book a flight for the time slot that interests you and fully experience the adventure!
The Manoir Halloween Festival in Paris

How can we talk about events in October without mentioning Halloween? The Manoir Halloween Festival is obviously part of our selection of events for October 2021. The team from Le Manoir de Paris is taking over the Grande Halle de la Villette from October 22 to 31 and invites you to experience pure terror. Off-limits to anyone under 10, this event offers an immersive experience in, among other things, 4 houses with terrifying themes: the Asylum, the Sanctuary, the Slaughterhouse, and the Organic Zombie Market.
In compliance with health regulations, take part in this celebration of horror by booking your tickets now. After burning off calories while being chased by zombies in the inflatable obstacle course, you can recharge with the food trucks and bars on-site before heading back to one of our cozy apartments in Paris.
Lake Annecy

October also means the All Saints' holidays, running from October 23 to November 8 this year. After seaside destinations in the summer, why not discover Lake Annecy and the many activities offered all around the freshwater expanse?
During this period, the city comes alive and hosts many sporting events, such as cycling or running. For thrill-seekers, it is the ideal season to try new disciplines and discover the lake by paragliding, microlight, or even hang gliding in complete safety. Breathtaking scenery and unforgettable memories guaranteed!
After taking in the sights, you can go and taste the region's specialties in one of the many restaurants by the lake or up in the hills. And why not end the day with a short boat trip to discover the lake from a new angle?
The Lyon Dance Biennale

The city of Lyon is no exception to the rule and, in October, becomes the stage for a major event. From June 1 to November 19, 2021, the people of Lyon are hosting the Dance Biennale, a festival that celebrates dance in its broadest definition. You will find all styles of dance there: samba, contemporary, hip-hop, ballet... and even circus arts. There is something for everyone! But it is above all African dance and, more broadly, Africa that is being honored this year.
Throughout the event, around forty shows will follow one another on the various stages made available to the 500 international artists gathered for the festivities. Don't forget to book your tickets, as the program varies from week to week!
Beyond the performances, you can also explore the world of dance by participating in workshops, attending battles, or meeting dancers and choreographers in an intimate setting. Whether with family or friends, it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate and reconnect after these months of isolation.
So, what are your plans for October? Looking to try a new activity or seeking a thrill? No matter where you want to go, Club Welkeys destinations will satisfy your need for a getaway.
