Discover Paris by night during Nuit Blanche! Welkeys recommends Nuit Blanche, taking place overnight from Saturday, October 1st to Sunday, October 2nd.
An unmissable event in the capital... and beyond!
This year marks the 15th edition of the event, with artistic direction by Jean de Loisy, President of the Palais de Tokyo. Nuit Blanche invites you to follow a route crossing the capital from east to west along the banks of the Seine, centered on the theme of crossing over."You will be invited to undergo various trials of self-transformation, much like Poliphilo, the hero of this Nuit Blanche who, in a 1467 Italian illustrated novel, travels in a dream in pursuit of Polia, the woman he is madly in love with." The event is free and open to the public. How could you miss it?
A route in the heart of Paris.
"From the Île de la Cité to the modern Paris of the Seine waterfront, you will be transported on a journey through time that continues into the Paris of tomorrow with the Société du Grand Paris. By situating itself in the heart of the capital, articulated around the Seine and its bridges, Nuit Blanche will be an opportunity to discover the city in a new light, with a route designed as a symbolic map that invites visitors to experience a romantic quest," as stated on the event website.
Welkeys favorites.
- The Alternative Warehouse at the Halle de la Villette, featuring a 4.5-hour techno DJ set by Laurent Garnier—enough to leave you with a serious case of ringing ears! (Paris 19th).
- The works of Philip Glass at the Philharmonie de Paris, an all-night event tracing his entire body of work in chronological order, conducted by Nicolas Horvath (Paris 19th).
- Behzad and Amarou will be at the Champ de Mars for the Kiosques Électroniques party for a night of pure techno. These two Concrète residents will make you forget about going anywhere else, keeping you under the Eiffel Tower longer than planned in an absolutely wonderful setting. Perhaps even the best in the world!
