The Confolens Folklore Festival

Join us for the 59th edition of the Confolens Festival. This festival is famous for its diversity. In the spotlight: world music and dance. Every summer for a week in August, the festival attracts 150,000 visitors to discover and share the passion and culture of about 600 artists from 5 continents. A festival like no other! Different cultures light up the heart of the city to the rhythms of folk dance and music. Welkeys highly recommends escaping to Confolens for a few days.

The Dax Feria

Experience 5 days of good vibes at the Dax festival. It's time for the feria! Hundreds of thousands of visitors, dressed in red and white, gather in the city streets to sing and dance to the sound of brass bands. The bullring is open daily for the occasion, offering aficionados bullfights and Landes race shows. Throughout the festival, Gascon heritage is celebrated with folk music groups, equestrian shows, and tastings of local products.

The Soöruz Lacanau Pro

Every year in August, the Soöruz Lacanau Pro takes place over 10 days. Created in 1979, this event is a surfing competition that serves as a key stage in the world qualifying circuit. See the best European and world surfers compete on the main beach of Lacanau.

An exhibitor village is set up with shops from partner brands like Soöruz and food stands. Numerous activities are offered to festival-goers during the day, including SUP racing, Zumba workshops, Tahitian dance demonstrations, yoga sessions, and vintage surfboard exhibits. Concerts and film screenings are also scheduled for the evening.

The Filets Bleus Festival

Discover Breton culture and heritage this weekend—its dance, music, costumes, and headdresses—at the Filets Bleus Festival. Since its inception in 1905, this event has been one of the biggest traditional festivals in Brittany.

Thousands of vacationers gather every year to listen to the best artists on the Breton scene, participate in the fest-noz, and taste Breton specialties! Street theater, parades, nautical jousting, traditional crafts, sea shanties, exhibitions, and children's activities round out the program. Most of the activities and concerts are free.
