Let's kick off this weekend with three sporting events in Évian-les-Bains, Le Castellet, and Tours, and wrap it up with a cultural discovery during the European Heritage Days held all across France.
The Evian Championship
From September 15th to 18th, catch the biggest women's golf event in France, the Evian Championship. For three days, the world's elite female golfers will gather for the final tournament of the golf season, where the world's best player will be crowned. For 22 years, the Evian Championship has hosted the greatest golfers in the world. Since 2013, the tournament has been one of the five major championships in women's professional golf.
The Bol d'Or
Experience the legendary Bol d'Or international race from September 16th to 18th. Are you a huge motorcycle fan? What are you waiting for? This endurance race was created in 1922. Discover 24 hours of non-stop action at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, Var. The Bol d'Or is also one of the largest motorcycle gatherings, featuring plenty of entertainment: race broadcasts on giant screens, rock concerts, a funfair, paintball, freestyle demonstrations, and mini-moto workshops for kids. If you're a motorcycle enthusiast, hop on your bike and head to the Var to join fellow fans for an unforgettable experience.
The Touraine Loire Valley Marathon
This Sunday, join the Touraine Loire Valley Marathon, a 42km race open to both amateurs and experienced runners. The course is magical, running along the Loire River and its tributary, the Cher. The route also takes you past the Château de Villandry, famous for its French-style gardens, and through typical Touraine villages like Saint-Genouph and Berthenay. The marathon finishes in the center of Tours. The event features plenty of musical and festive entertainment along the course, ensuring a sporty and friendly atmosphere.
European Heritage Days
Throughout the weekend of September 17th & 18th, enjoy the European Heritage Days. All across France, come discover history and art. You will have the chance to admire masterpieces of civil and religious architecture, industrial and agricultural sites, parks and gardens, archaeological sites, furniture, and literary, river, or military heritage. Many public and private buildings will open their doors to the public for this special occasion. Come explore the Élysée Palace, the Senate, ministries, embassies, prefectures, and town halls, as well as unique spots like theaters, hospitals, schools, gyms, villas, castles, and factories. An enriching heritage to discover only during this weekend.
