The French Riviera, the quintessential destination in the South of France

Destinations dans le sud de la France : la côte d'Azur

‍

You will enjoy a trip rich in scenery on the French Riviera, with the islands, rivers, and lakes of the Mercantour, as well as its beaches and hilltop villages. In Toulon, admire the most beautiful harbor in Europe and explore the coastline by bike or on foot through parks and gardens. Don't miss the Mont Faron cable car or hikes at Croupatier or Mont Caume. The Mayol stadium is a must-see for rugby fans.

In Nice, enjoy the view from Castle Hill or stroll along the Promenade des Anglais. Old Nice and the port will charm you with their Italian flair. Browse the Cours Saleya market for its flowers and local products. Be sure to stop and taste a slice of socca, the essential chickpea flour pancake. For art lovers, a detour to the MAMAC (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) is a must.

‍

‍

Antibes will charm you with its Provençal market and the Safranier district in the Old Town. Admire the Vauban ramparts and the Picasso works at the museum. Spend a few hours in Juan-les-Pins or at Salis Beach. This Blue Flag-certified beach overlooks the lighthouse, and it's a great place to try stand-up paddleboarding.

‍

‍

The city of Cannes naturally puts cinema in the spotlight, with its painted walls and the Walk of Stars. Walk along its 3 km of beaches and admire the luxury hotels on the Croisette. Le Suquet, the birthplace of the city, is worth a look. This picturesque neighborhood offers a panoramic view. Don't forget the old port, the narrow streets, and the Forville market halls.

‍

‍

To find yourself in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, stop in Grimaud. On one hand, wander the cobblestone streets of the medieval village with their Provençal houses. On the other, sail the canals of Port-Grimaud, a 20th-century lakeside city with colorful facades. Hiking or horseback riding will help you discover the surroundings: the coastal path along the shore or the Maures mountains inland.

‍

‍

From Hyères, access the islands of Porquerolles, Port-Cros, and Le Levant. The beaches are yours to enjoy; take the opportunity to go diving or watch for dolphins. The surrounding nature is perfect for hiking and birdwatching.

‍

‍

Corsica, the Island of Beauty

Destinations dans le sud de la France : la Corse.

‍

Set off to discover the Island of Beauty, which feels both so close and so far away. Between the sea, mountains, and maquis, it is renowned for its hiking and its relaxed way of life. Your taste buds won't be left out, with lemons, clementines, chestnuts, canistrelli, sea urchins, and wines.

‍

In Ajaccio, the birthplace of Napoleon, you will immerse yourself in imperial history. The old town, its markets, and colorful houses await you. Taste the seafood and Corsican specialties before watching the magnificent sunset. As for sports, hiking, beaches, and water sports are all at your fingertips.

‍

Porto-Vecchio will reveal the secrets of its citadel. During a stroll along the docks of its marina, you might decide to rent a boat or book an excursion. On certain days, local artisans and creators offer their work there. Easily access Palombaggia with its view of the Cerbicale Islands for a walk among the umbrella pines and pink rocks. Finally, the mountain village of L'Ospedale is worth the detour for its stunning environment and panorama!

‍

Propriano is known as one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the island. It is located in an exceptional environment of coves, maquis, and beaches. You will enjoy a walk in its port, which opens onto the Gulf of Valinco. Relax in the thermal springs of Baracci or enjoy an excursion to the Bay of Campomoro to see the Genoese tower. With a little luck, you might even spot some whales!
