Nicknamed the Flower Island, Martinique is an ideal destination for nature lovers and lazy afternoons. Indeed, its tropical climate and heavenly beaches make many dream of it.
Located in the northwest of Martinique and near Mount Pelée, the city of Saint-Pierre has a very rich history. Founded by a freebooter in 1635, it was then classified City of Art and History in 1990. Victim of one of the deadliest eruptions in 1902, you can come and visit Saint-Pierre and discover its many remains (the Fort Church, the Offices of the Geniuses, the old theatre...). A little higher up, at an altitude of 450 metres, the town of Le Morne-Rouge is an ideal starting point for sports enthusiasts wishing to climb Mont Pelée. Located around Saint-Pierre, other towns such as Le Carbet, Le Morne Vert, Case PIlote and Le Prêcheur, have a multitude of centers of interest to discover throughout your stay in Martinique.
On the other side, along the Atlantic coast of Martinique, is the city of La Trinité. Ideally located, at the entrance of the peninsula of the Caravelle and its exceptional natural reserve. Combining mangroves, steep coasts, savannah and forest, the peninsula offers a multitude of walks.
Back in La Trinité, we discover its village, composed of a charming seafront, vestiges testifying to its military past and finally, the last sugar unit of the island still in activity: the Galion factory.
As for seasonal rentals, the districts of Saint-Pierre and La Trinité have more than 1300 homes available on Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo or HomeAway. Between heavenly landscapes and a unique cultural heritage, Martinique attracted more than one million visitors in 2018, that is +16.9% compared to 2016.
Located at 8H30 flight from Paris, the average stay in Martinique is 7 days. In terms of attendance, the high season corresponds to what is known as the dry period. This dry period begins in December and ends in May during which we find average prices per night of 80€ for an average occupancy rate of 79%.
